AUSSIE rock will be at centre stage early next year, with an all-star line-up visiting Healesville for a night of good music, good times and… Grapes.
Jimmy Barnes will headline a special A Day on the Green concert at Healesville’s Rochford Winery on Saturday 15 February as part of the Yarra Valley Grape Grazing Festival.
Accompanying him to the stage will be the Baby Animals, Daryl Braithwaite and John Stevens and the Dead Daisies.
Barnes is no stranger to the sight of Healesville’s vineyards, performing at A Day on the Green both with Cold Chisel and as a solo performer.
He said that he’s always had an “absolute blast” performing as part of the winery tours in the past.
“It’s a fantastic way to enjoy music – sitting back with your friends in a great location,” he said.
“There’s always a good feeling across the whole day, which makes it a pleasure to play.”
The performance will be one of the most notable events as part of the Grape Grazing Festival, which will run from 14-16 February 2014.
The festival, which draws about 20,000 people to the Yarra Valley annually, will be returning to the area for the first time since 2008.
“I hope everyone comes out to support the Grape Grazing Festival,” Barnes said.
Tickets to the Jimmy Barnes A Day on the Green concert are on sale now and range from $89.90 plus booking fee for general admission, up to $149 plus booking fee for platinum packages.
Visitors to the A Day on the Green concerts are asked to bring a chair or picnic rug and are able to bring picnic supplies, though the event strictly does not allow outside alcohol.
