UNIQUELY talented singer and harpist Alana Conway is headed to Stones of the Yarra Valley to promote her new album, Fields of Gold.
Released early last month, Fields of Gold debuted at number two in the ARIA classical charts and is a unique combination of a classically trained, cross-over singer with the presence of the harp.
In a blend of original tracks and covers, the album includes classics like At Last, When I Fall in Love alongside favourites You Raise Me Up and Hallelujah.
Ms Conway said she is excited to be releasing her first album and loved the process of recording and watching the songs come to life.
“It has been the most wonderful experience and one I cannot wait to share,” she said.
“I couldn’t be luckier working with ABC Music for my debut album, the dedication and support shown from this leading label has made me feel very much part of the ABC family.”
Having performed at countless corporate events, Ms Conway recently staged her own sold out event at the Bendigo Cathedral with Mark Vincent and also sung the National Anthem at the 2012 Cox Plate.
Unearth Your Sound Director James Kempster said Ms Conway is one of Australia’s most exciting and intriguing performers.
“Audiences may remember her as a star of Australia’s Got Talent however there is much more the Alana then just appearing on a television series,” he said.
“Alana is a performer that’s hard to categorise, her unique style and eclectic range of music engages the listener and takes you on a journey.
“She is sure to become one of Australia’s leading ladies of song.”
Alana Conway will be performing at Stones of the Yarra Valley on Sunday 27 October from 11am to noon.
