AUSTRALIAN musical heavyweights Hunters and Collectors have announced their first tour in 15 years, making their way to Healesville’s Rochford Winery for their special A Day on the Green concert.
The group, who performed at the AFL Grand Final on Saturday 28 September, will begin their tour on the Australia Day long weekend next year, winding up their tour in April.
On Saturday 22 March, the band will grace the stage at Rochford Winery’s A Day on the Green event, playing alongside You Am I, Something for Kate and British India.
Hunters and Collectors have a prolific history in music, playing around 2000 shows across 15 countries before retiring in 1998 as a multi-platinum selling band, with five top-10 albums.
The band are most noted for their classic songs Throw Your Arms Around Me, Talking to a Stranger, Holy Grail, When the River Runs Dry, Do You See What I See and many others.
The tour announcement follows the release of the album Crucible – The Songs of Hunters and Collectors, which features 15 covers of the group’s well-known songs by performers such as The Living End, Birds of Tokyo, Neil Finn and Eddie Vedder, Something for Kate, British India and Paul Kelly.
The event is fully licensed (BYO alcohol is strictly prohibited).
Food will be available at the event, though visitors can bring their own picnic and deck chairs and picnic rugs are recommended to be bought on the day.
Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 11 October.
Prices range from $89 plus booking fees for general admission, all the way up to $179.90 plus booking fee for platinum tickets.
