Moving tribute to industry

By KATH GANNAWAY

THE gallery of photos at the Heritage Pioneers’ Chapel in Woori Yallock pays tribute to the life and times of the timber industry in this region and the people who made it.
It’s an evolving tribute to the timber workers of past and recent generations who have passed on and plays an important role in the commemoration service that takes place at the chapel each year.
This year is the fourth year the service has been held. It provides an opportunity for those who have lost loved ones in the bush, on the road or in the mills to remember them and acknowledge their hard work in an industry that goes back to the very beginnings of settlement in the valley.
Heritage and Heritage Funerals host the service and invite anyone who has photos or other memorabilia they would like included in a memorial DVD to contact Leonie Lang on 5964 6500.
The DVD will be played as part of the service at Heritage Pioneers’ Chapel, Healesville Kooweerup Road, Woori Yallock on Saturday, 19 October at 11am.
For further information phone Ms Lang or email info@heritagefunerals.com.au.
