FANS of Australian bands Not Drowning, Waving and My Friend the Chocolate Cake have the chance to catch up with founding musician, singer/songwriter David Bridie at Healesville on 2 August.
Bridie’s newest incarnation, David Bridie and The Pills will present their new album, Wake, at The Memo in Healesville.
Wake is a total immersion in sound as an exploration of space with a delicious edge.
The product of midnight musings, pondering and lyric shift, a texture layer, a different voicing of a chord or a melody.
Joining Bridie is his partner in Not Drowning, John Phillips, on guitar, with Dave Foley on Drums.
Described as an exquisite collection of songs from a fascinating musical mind, reviews include Green Left Weekly’s “A beat that envelopes you like a warm salty pull of a gentle ocean tide,” and Bernard Zuel’s observation in the Sydney Morning Herald that “We’re lucky Bridie is here, and we’re luckier still that he’s this good.”
David Bridie And The Pills are at The Memo, Healesville on Friday night, 2 August, with a second concert at Montrose Town Centre on 4 August.
