Cuppa and chat against cancer

Three generations of Warburton residents supporting the Biggest Morning Tea: Rita Mentiplay and Greta Miller with Sandra Miller who is a cancer survivor.

PLENTY of tea and many sneaky biscuits have been consumed over the past month across the Upper Yarra to help beat cancer.
A Biggest Morning Tea event was held last Wednesday, 20 May, at Warburton’s Redwood Centre to support the Cancer Council of Australia’s annual fundraiser.
Redwood Community Centre manager Kate Barratt said the event raised $400.
“It was a very successful morning and guests not only enjoyed a beautiful spread they also caught up for a chat with friends,” she said.
“We wanted to thank the wonderful volunteers who donated their time, as well as the people who turned up and The Old Tea Shop, Three Sugars and Oscars for their support.”
The funds raised from Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea help the Cancer Council to continue its work in cancer research, prevention, and education and support services.
