POLO as a spectator experience is growing in the Yarra Valley.
As the Yarra Valley Polo Club prepares for its Flowerfield Cup finals on Sunday 17 March, crowds are expected to be bigger than ever.
The event, held at Flowerfield in Coldstream, is held over the weekend with more than 100 polo ponies and 10 teams competing for trophies throughout the qualifying rounds on the Saturday and the Sunday finals.
For polo enthusiasts, and those who are just discovering the sport, the Yarra Valley offers the chance to see Australian and international players battling it out for the prestigious Flowerfield and Coldstream cups.
The action is exhilarating and there’s and no-one is exempt from some on-field action.
Everyone is expected to take part in the traditional divot stomping between chukkas.
Sunday is a great day to relax, enjoy the polo, a picnic or party with friends. There are several catering options for private marquees as well as general in the general arena.
There will be pony rides for the kids, Yarra Valley wine and cider and regional produce available and a chance enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of polo in the Yarra Valley.
