SEVILLE CFA has finished the year on a high with the completion of its station, a new salvage vehicle and plenty of support from the community.
As part of IGA’s community chest program the brigade received a $7400 cheque earlier this year plus with donations from the Seville store itself, Seville IGA has contributed close to $40,000 to the brigade.
Captain David Clark said the latest funds would be used to purchase more breathing apparatus for the salvage vehicle, as well as chemical detection equipment.
“We spent $70,000 extending our building but we still have internal work to be done such as extending the turnout room,” he said.
Seville IGA manager Barry Entwistle said his business had chosen to give 80 per cent of their community fund-raising to the local CFA.
“We’re proud to be part of the community and we’re a community supermarket,” he said.
