Winery wins in the wind

COLDSTREAM Hills Winery has taken out two prizes at the Dan Murphy’s National Wine Show of Australia in November.
Judging took place in Canberra over four days with 1387 wines judged resulting in 148 gold medals, 151 silver and 454 bronze being awarded in addition to special trophies.
Coldstream Hills was awarded the Kit Stevens Memorial Trophy for Best Bottle Fermented Sparkling White or Pink with its Coldstream Hills 2008 Pinot Noir Chardonnay, and the Treasury Wines Estate Trophy for Best Single Vineyard Dry Red Table Wine with its Coldstream Hills 2011 Roslyn Vineyard Limited Release Pinot Noir.
The National Wine Show is widely recognised as the nation’s winemaking ‘grand final’ as wines in the premium classes are only entitled to enter if they have been previously awarded a medal at a capital city or approved regional show.
