A SEVILLE equestrian club raised $600 for Animal Aid while hosting its first show at Wesburn Park.
Biddlesden Park Equestrian Club hosted the Horse Riding Clubs’ Association of Victoria Show at Wesburn Park last month, with the opportunity to be judged twice.
Many local riders also enjoyed the chance to be assessed by two judges on the one day giving riders double the chance of winning great prizes.
The highest score winners for the day for each ring were Ashleigh Atwell riding Champagne Alfonso from Macclesfield Adult Riding Club and Shelley Murcutt riding Golden Apsora from Maroondah Adult Riding Club.
Biddlesden Park Equestrian Club vice president Justine Mizzi said a raffle was held on the day, with many prizes donated by local businesses and all proceeds going to Animal Aid.
“We raised $565 for the Animal Aid,” she said. “It was great to be able to give back to the community.
“With the success of the show this year, we are looking forward to running it as an annual event.”
Woori Yallock and District Bendigo Bank sponsored the sashes and ribbons for the day and Horseland donated rugs and vouchers for the winners.
