A DIRT bike worth $7000 is still missing after goods totaling more than $20,000 were stolen from properties in East Warburton and Warburton.
A 24-year-old Yellingbo man has been charged over the theft of an $11,000 2011 Yamaha YX 250 dirtbike, a pair of $200 UFO motorbike boots and a $1000 trailer.
Warburton Police are asking for help to recover a WR 450 dirt bike worth $7000, and ask anybody who has information to contact the station.
They are also warning residents to ensure all property is stored securely.
Senior Constable Don Trice said both motorbikes and the boots were stolen from a shed at the rear of a house in Warburton East early in the morning on Friday 27 July.
He said the same morning a six-by-four trailer was stolen from outside an address in Warburton.
It had been attached to a vehicle parked in the owner’s driveway.
He said the YX 250 motorbike, the riding boots and the trailer had been recovered from an address in Yellingbo and returned to the owners, and a 24-year-old Yellingbo man had been charged and bailed for the thefts.
“Warburton Police would like to remind residents that even though there is a low level of crime in the Yarra Valley compared to the rest of Victoria, they need to ensure their property and possessions are stored securely,” he said.
Anybody with information is asked to contact Warburton Police on 5966 2006.
