AT CURVES, the mission is to strengthen women.
Staff work without the three Ms – no men, no mirrors and no make-up.
The Curves workout allows women of all ages and fitness levels to experience a complete workout in just 30 minutes.
Bronwyn Wicks and Melinda Leadbeater heard the Yarra Glen gym would be closing at the end of December.
“We knew straight away that we wanted to have the Curves in Healesville as there wasn’t a women’s only fitness centre available to women in the community,” Bronwyn said.
Bronwyn runs a home business with her husband while Melinda had been a Curves member for several years.
“We knew that between us we could make this business fresh and exciting,” Bronwyn said.
“We want to create an environment where women feel comfortable with working out, creating new friendships and establishing healthy living.”
The 30-minute circuit works every major muscle group so women can burn up to 500 calories.
“With our trainers here to give you total support, you’re sure to reach your fitness goal,” she said.
Bronwyn said the Yarra Glen staff Dee and Kelly also joined the team at Healesville.
“It’s fantastic and we couldn’t have done the transition without them,” she said.
“We’re very grateful for their assistance and advice.”
The gym also offers Curves Complete, the new weight loss plan that has it all – diet, exercise and motivation – the three keys to weight loss.
To celebrate the opening of the new Healesville Curves, new members are being offered a 66 per cent discount on the service fees when they join up.
Curves Healesville is open from early morning to late night with a break over lunch time, and is located at 203 Maroondah Highway, Healesville.
