AN INFORMATION session and workshops will provide a doorway to a more efficient and sustainable future for Yarra Ranges businesses.
The breakfast session at Red Gum in Lilydale on Wednesday 8 February is a lead up to Yarra Ranges Council’s Sustainable Business Program which starts soon.
The Sustainable Business Program (SBP) helps businesses operate more efficiently and effectively, reducing their carbon footprint and increasing their profits.
The SBP workshops will take place through March and April and will provide a forum for participants to learn new business practices, share ideas and network.
Topics cover the business case for sustainability, marketing and communicating the sustainability message, sustainability strategy, measuring and acting on sustainability success, case studies, including visits to business leaders’ properties and engaging staff and team members on sustainability.
And with only six months to go until the carbon price commences in July, the council will be running a carbon price workshop.
SBP co-ordinators Lou Zarro and Joanne Tate said it was essential that businesses in Yarra Ranges have a good understanding of the implications for their businesses.
The two-hour workshop is called What the Carbon Price Means For Your Business and is being presented by Shaper Group’s Dan Atkins on Tuesday 21 February to provide businesses with the understanding they need.
This workshop costs $45 and is open to all businesses in the Yarra Ranges.
