A 64-year-old Warburton man has been charged with 52 counts of criminal activity.
Lilydale CIU’s Leading Senior Constable Ross Bingley said the charges related to obtaining property by deception, and making and using false documents.
He said the charges related to a period between 2007 and 2011, and there were numerous victims from the Yarra Valley.
The case was to be heard in the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday) but it was adjourned with the accused bailed to appear on 24 January 2012.
