HEALESVILLE big band musician Bob Ure is taking his music down the line to help spread some pre-Christmas cheer around the City of Whitehorse.
Bob, who has been part of the Healesville band scene for more almost half a century also has a long history with what used to be the Nunawading Brass Band.
“I’ve been going down there for nearly 26 years and the original band also has an historic connection with Healesville, playing for many years up here as part of the Anzac Day march,” he said.
Mr Ure, who plays the trumpet, and Healesville baritone player Ross Shurvell, will on stage with the big brass band for Christmas With the Band at the Whitehorse Centre on Monday 12 December.
The show is an annual celebration featuring music from shows, and brass bands with strong memories of the swing era.
Supporting acts, including some very talented singers, will make it a night to remember.
With the occasional carol and a promise of lots of Christmas cheer, the big band sound is a great way to get into the festive mood in a big way!
The show starts at 8pm and tickets are $20 and concession $15.
