IMPRESSIONISTIC realism will soon be brought to Warburton in a collection of works using pastel and watercolour from two local artists.
Featuring portrait, still-life, landscape and life drawing, Artful Expressions showcases a beautiful display of what the region has to offer.
Kate Collins and Marion Dennis differ in their background to art but both show strong signs of artistic talent and flair.
Kate has completed a Diploma in Art and Design at Stourbridge College of the Arts, a course at The School of Botanical Art in Melbourne and was tutored by Malcolm Beattie at the Peninsula Art Society.
Marion, on the other hand, is halfway through a 10 year apprenticeship with renowned pastellist Janet Hayes and says she has a growing appreciation of the colour in everything and is beginning to understand and develop a love for strong lights beside strong darks.
The exhibition opens 27 August and will run at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre until 14 September. Entry is free.
