THE Monbulk Rangers women’s reserves won another all-important match on the weekend as they continue their run atop the ladder.
Monbulk defeated Albert Park 4-0, but the game started off at a slow pace. Monbulk failed to impress in the first half, not working as a team and letting Albert Park run the game.
The score was 1-0 at half-time before Monbulk switched on in the second half.
Monbulk made excellent use of its midfield and, thanks to some outstanding crosses from Nicole Perfect, the ball barely reached the team’s defensive half.
Darcie Sands scored an impressive hat-trick and was awarded player of the match for her efforts. Alex Gardner scored the fourth goal.
Monbulk will face some tough competition in the next few games and is only one game clear of second placed Preston, which it plays next week.
Preston forfeited the last time the two teams were due to meet so Monbulk needs to be on the ball and expect the unexpected this time.
Rangers stay at the top
