THE peak body for Victoria’s councils has rejected the move to stand alongside Yarra Ranges Council and boycott Reflex paper.
The council had moved at the 27 April meeting to sponsor the motion at the Municipal Association of Victoria’s next meeting.
About 70 per cent of mem-bers rejected the motion put forward by Yarra Ranges Council to sign the Ethical Paper Pledge at the 27 May MAV state meeting.
Mayor Terry Avery said he was disappointed but it was just as much about raising awareness.
“I suppose 30 per cent (supporting the motion) isn’t too bad,” he said.
