Messages of celebration

A message from Reverend Tim Anderson – St John’s Anglican Church, Healesville and St Paul’s Anglican Church, Yarra Glen.
THE death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the central moment of human history.
In Jesus’ death, God broke into history to pull down the wall of hostility between people and God.
In his resurrection, death was defeated and the promise of eternal life for his followers was guaranteed.
Every person needs to respond to God in Jesus Christ.
You are welcome to join us, as together we remember these truths and respond to God’s kindness with gratitude this Easter.
A message from Pastor John Meadth of the Liberty Family Church, Healesville.
HOT cross buns, chocolate eggs and bunnies – and sometimes a chocolate bilby gets a look in too – these are the familiar signs of Easter in our community.
I must admit being partial to these seasonal treats myself but there is, of course, much more to this annual event.
For around 2000 years the Christian church has celebrated Easter. But why? For the Christian it is the remembrance of the foundation of our faith – the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus gave up His life so that we could be free of the power and penalty of our undeniable sinful natures.
We believe that when He rose from the dead He defeated the power of sin and made it possible for us to enter into relationship with God both now and through all eternity. It seems so simple – but that is the Biblical testimony – we need only trust in what Jesus did for us at Easter and we can discover fully what it means to be in relationship with the God of the universe.
Why not join us at any one of your local churches’ Easter celebrations and discover even more about what Easter has to offer.
