THE joint celebration of the Yarra Valley Permaculture Group’s Autumnfest and the official opening of Healesville Community Labyrinth saw hundreds of people enjoy the fruits of very different labours.
The Labyrinth was the culmination of more than four years’ work involving hundreds of community members and government and welfare groups.
Autumnfest, an annual celebration of the autumn equinox and the birthday of the Healesville Organic Farmer’s Market, made the perfect partnership.
Market founder Graeme George said Autumnfest was a great success.
“We had all our regular market stalls as well as one-off stall holders with locally produced sustainable products and lots of community groups promoting their causes,” he said.
“It was wonderful to see so many parts of the community involved,” he said.
