He did the Relay For Life with a mate’s family team last year.
“Seeing in the small area of Yarra Ranges all the people who have lost loved ones due to cancer made me think of what else I could do,” he said on Friday night as family and friends watched his trademark golden locks hit the floor.
Naturally, he went to the internet where he says he “stumbled” on the World’s Greatest Shave website.
He didn’t hesitate.
“I thought to myself, that’s the perfect thing to do, to raise more money for the Leukaemia Foundation,” he said.
“Because I have been growing my hair for five or six years now, and people know how much I love my hair, I thought I could raise a lot of money.
Jayden says already he knows family members and friends who have cancer, or have died as a result of it, and he is determined to do more to help raise awareness and money for the cause.
He estimates his ‘great shave’ will raise $400 and he will be soon calling for sponsors for his part in the 2011 Relay for Life.
