SUPERBIKE star Cameron Donald wowed Warburton this month with tales of his racing experiences – and raised $5000 throughout the night.
Donald, a well-respected international motorcycle racing identity from Warrandyte, spent an evening in Warburton on Friday 4 February regaling audiences with his Isle of Man racing experiences.
More than 200 enthusiasts began the night with a meal outside Cafe Meccanica, a “Show and Shine” judged by Donald, and an auction of Cameron Donald memorabilia by local auctioneer Chris Thomas.
The enthusiasts then moved to the Upper Yarra Arts Centre for an insight into Donald’s experiences on the international racing scene.
Organised by Warburton Advancement League, they resented Donald with a cheque for $2000 to support his racing career, and the additional $3000 will support the league in the maintenance of the Warburton river tracks.
