Snap the Valley

By Laura Armitage
AMATEUR photographers are being encouraged to take part in Mont de Lancey’s photo competition, which aims to capture the essence of the Yarra Valley and its people.
The competition is a first for Mont de Lancey, and hopes to encourage creativity and technical excellence.
Themed as People, Places and Lifestyles of the Yarra Valley, supporting photographer Mark Baldock said it would give people an opportunity to participate in something they don’t usually get a chance to do.
Mr Baldock hopes to attract a strong student contingent to the competition.
“I’m very keen to see them display images they’ve been working on for school assignments or they’ve been working on throughout the year,” he said.
Evelyn MP Christine Fyffe will present the awards for all categories, and the photographs will go on exhibition at Mont de Lancey.
The entries will be judged for creativity, colour or tonal balance, composition and presentation.
Entries will be judged in the fields of primary students, secondary students and an open category, in either colour or black and white.
Visit www.montdelancey.org.au for more information or to download an entry form.
