COUNTRY musicians from the Dandenongs and the Mornington Peninsula will perform in Healesville on Sunday, raising funds for the Healesville SES.
The Upwey Country Music Club and the Peninsula Country Music Club will team up to present a special country music concert at Healesville RSL.
Healesville country music fan Kevin Emmerson, a UCMC member, said the clubs wanted to support the SES.
“During the Black Saturday disasters of February, their (SES) members so bravely and magnificently did their part. It is a great cause,” he said.
Mr Emmerson said the wide variety of music, with a mixture of western-style, country, country rock and “a bit of folk,” guaranteed a great afternoon of entertainment.
“We have a set gig at Upwey RSL on the first Sunday of every month and people just love the easy-going, friendly atmosphere of the shows,” he said.
UCMC members who will perform include Up-Country Band, Graham Chasemore, Roger Nash, Patrick Wallis, Bruce Hedt and Rob Leereveld, Rob and Faye Muddyman (who locals may remember from their Christmas Hills days) Jacki Emmerson, Rick Taylor and Chris Hurley.
Singer/guitarist Ross Duncan will be leading the Peninsula club musicians.
Mr Emmerson said he was grateful to the RSL for providing the venue and hoped the local community would support the event, and their local SES.
Entry is just $5 and there is no need to book. The concert starts at 12.30pm.
Contact Mr Emmerson on 5962 6125 for further information.
