The eight-kilometre trail which it is proposed be named in honour of local historian the late Eric Tetlow, is to be funded from the Bushfire Appeals Fund.
Yarra Ranges Ryrie Ward councillor Jeanette McRae said the proposed shared trail, would begin at the intersection of Steels Creek Road and Symonds Street in Yarra Glen and finish before the Steels Creek Tennis Club.
‘The trail is planned to be constructed of compacted crushed rock and is proposed to be shared by walkers, horse riders and cyclists,’ she said.
She said the public meeting to be held at the Yarra Glen Memorial Hall at 7pm, had been called to discuss the trail alignment and any other issues the local community had.
Further information on the trail is available from project design and construction engineer Linna Gagelonia at Yarra Ranges Council on 1300 368 333.
