JOFFA Corfe, the colourful leader of the Collingwood Football Club Cheer Squad will be a special guest at the Yarra Junction Junior Football Club Presentation and Trophy night this year. The popular AFL personality is riding a burst of media attention following his starring role in the recent release of his first movie, “Joffa The Movie”.
Club president Mark Harrington said he was thrilled that Joffa had found time to support the Junior Eagles club. “We’re really looking forward to the night. Joffa will meet the children and their parents and assist in the presentation of trophies and awards,” Mr Harrington said.
He said the club had had a very successful year.
“We fielded three teams and intend to increase this to four teams with the introduction of an Under 16 team for next year,” he said.
He said all new Under 16 players would receive free registration and free shorts and socks. “There is a wonderful opportunity here for Under 16 players to join one of the friendliest junior clubs in the country.”
Player registrations will be taken on the night and Mr Harrington urged families to take advantage of a 50 per cent discount on registration fees if they paid for on or before the presentation night.
“This offer also applies to families who wish to leave a deposit by the same date.” Mr Harrington said.
“Everyone is welcome at our happy family club, so make sure you come along and participate in a great night out with the kids,” Mr Harrington said.
The presentation night is on Saturday 4 September at the Yarra Junction Football Pavilion starting at 6pm with a spit roast dinner and apple pies and the drawing of the club’s Mega Raffle with prizes valued at over $1200. Under 10 presentations begin at 6.30pm.
