YARRA Junction played host to a collection of collectors recently.
Volunteers from the The Upper Yarra Historical Museum invited collectors from around the valley to show and tell their hoards this month.
Museum volunteer Keith Johnson said the day went well.
“We had ladies bring ladies’ things and men bring mens’ things.”
Some of the ladies’ collections included thimbles and porcelain dolls, and then there were blokes with wheel clamps, tools and trains. Mr Johnson said there was also military items, space memorabilia and oil lamps.
“These are people that collect and they like to talk about their things,” he said.
“We tried to gather people who have collections outside of what we’ve got to complement the museum.”
The local scout group was on hand with a sausage sizzle, and the museum was open too.
