MONT De Lancey historical homestead is playing host to an exhibition by artist Brent Douthie.
Mr Douthie’s family were pioneers of the Wandin Valley area and he has strong ties with the Lilydale and Woori Yallock region.
“We were up here doing some family history and came across the gallery eight months from the show,” he said.
The Painting in the Dark show was worked on from 2007 to 2010, and the theme of the series was how he would see his home town of Melbourne in black, white and silver.
It is Mr Douthie’s first show, which grew from the need to start painting late at night, as this was the time of the day when he felt most focused.
The exhibition is open to the public until 27 June at Mont De Lancey, 71 Wellington Road, Wandin. For more information call 5964 2088.
