A spectacular show

ALOWYN gardens in Yarra Glen will provide a unique and artistic stage for this year’s Yarra Glen Art Show.
John and Prue van de Linde, ABC gardeners of the year in 2008, have created a magnificent setting for what promises to be a spectacular show.
The art show will be held in the Maple Courtyard adjacent to the van de Linde’s own horticultural work of art.
Yarra Valley artist Tom Nelson is a first-time exhibitor at the show. An artist for 35 years, he started painting landscapes and has recently focused on female studies.
Mr Nelson is one of more than 150 artists from the Yarra Valley and beyond who will contribute an exciting and eclectic range of artworks.
In addition to the exhibition, the Yarra Glen Art Show will be conducting two sessions with two renowned artists Janet Hayes and Louise Foletta on Easter Saturday.
“With such stunning surrounds, this is a wonderful opportunity for established or emerging artists to take inspiration from the main gardens at Alowyn and utilise the experience from Janet and Louise to create to explore their work,” said art show co-ordinator Morgan Calder.
Places are limited to eight in each session so early booking is recommended.
Ms Calder, working with a dedicated team of volunteers, and a unique garden gallery has all the ingredients to create a show that will delight and inspire.
The art show opens on Good Friday and runs through to Easter Monday opening from 10am to 5pm each day. Entry to the show is free.
