Expo has it all

SUSTAINABLE, and fun! It’s all about getting the balance right at the Marysville Sustainability Expo.
The expo on Saturday 28 March is run by the Murrindindi Climate Network and presents a great opportunity to gather information about the latest innovations in sustainable living.
The main exhibitors’ and speakers’ tents will feature more than 30 stalls with half-hourly presentations on a diverse range of sustainable technologies and solutions for household, office, building design, construction and land management.
On the fun side there will be music by Pans on Fire, Marysville and Triangle’s own steelband. The 16-piece orchestra will rock the expo with African rhythms, jazz and calypso.
Vox Bandicoot will perform “Circus Sustainable”, an irresistible, light-hearted show full of juggling, gags, magic, and the most amazing technology ever invented for energy conservation.
Vox Bandicoot will present several shows between noon and 3pm with the opportunity for the audience to discover Mr Elvis Presley (the King himself) has returned to town to meet the incredible Compost Knievel and Bozone Layer.
There will be other dedicated children’s programs including arts and crafts, story time, a giant game of Drains and Ladders and more.
People of all ages are invited to make a lasting contribution to the new Marysville at the clay plaque design workshop. The motive is “roadside wild flowers” and, under the guidance of local artist Jeanette Jennings, community members are invited to carve the images from 96 botanical illustrations.
The plaques, once glazed and fired, will be part of the new walking trails in the Marysville and Triangle area.
The expo will be held in Marysville Central in Darwin Street, between 9am and 4pm. Entry is free.
