BMX’s debut in the Beijing Olympic Games has launched the sport into the limelight according to club president Mick Willis, who said the sport was currently receiving an increase of memberships and people wanting to try the sport.
“The up-coming come and try day is an excellent avenue for anyone who saw the sport on TV at the Olympics and is interested in BMX to try the sport for free.
Club president, Mick Willis, saidthe come and try day would be an excellent opportunity for the public to try the sport.
“BMX is such a fun sport that can be enjoyed by the whole family,” he said.
“We are inviting any member of the public who have a BMX bike and helmet to come and ride their BMX on a real track for free and experience first-hand the speed and excitement.”
The come and try day provides the public an opportunity to try the sport without having to pay for a BMX Australia membership. There will be qualified coaches and officials on the day to teach children the basics of BMX.
All participants that attend will receive a show bag filled with products such as a BMX hat, magazine, BMX CD, tattoo and stickers.
