Woori has Summers-time blues

IN AN 11th-round D. J. Strachan match that will help shape the Yarra Valley final four, Warburton-Millgrove travelled to Woori Yallock and reached 9/255.
Brent Summers with a fine 107 led the batting and Andrew Sharp took 5/66 to take the bowling honours.
In the other main match to decide the four Seville made first use of the crease at Queens Park Healesville but failed to repeat the batting of its previous innings and was all out for 151. Adam Burns made 32, John Pignataro 39 and Dean Troyahn 31.
The Healesville bowling was on top with Daniel Rogers and Darren Edwards showing the way but the best figures came from Ben Slater with 5/30.
Healesville batted for 10 overs and had fallen to 2/13 at stumps, putting the match in an interesting position and Healesville searching for a steadying partnership.
Hoddles Creek is 2/18 after dismissing ladder leader Wandin for 232 and having it in a bit of trouble early in the innings. Wandin Captain John Aumann batted well in the recovery phase for 74, while A. Davis took 3/63 and was the best of the Hoddles Creek bowlers.
Yarra Junction hosted Silvan, which batted first to reach 195 all out. Clint Sharman made 44, Jamie Cornford 39 and Chris Reynolds 22.
Eagles bowlers to make the most of the conditions were Brad Jones with 4/31, David Lever 2/50 and Dan Lever 3/47. At stumps the game delicately poised.
Neighbours Coldstream and Gruyere United did battle at the Coldstream Cricket Ground with the visitors batting first to reach 134 all out with A Reker making 31, Aaron Violi 30 and Jack Blain 19.
The Coldstream bowlers doing the bulk of the work were Scott Reece with 5/33 and Matt Stark with 3/35.
In the R. A. Finger Trophy Healesville batted first at Warburton and reached 4/387 at stumps with B. Dolan 100 not out, Michael Sawyer 96, Richard Maille 60, Mark Powell 56 and Chris Loughnan 2/37.
Warburton Millgrove will need to bat above previous innings for this season to reach this tally.
Seville at home declared late in the day at 8/309 with Richard Dicello on 103 not out, Phil Smith on 81 and Ben Walsh 29. Sam Morrison took 3/47 for Coldstream which lost one wicket for 10 at close of play.
At Wandin the home side was dismissed for 163 with B. Toogood on 37, J. Ladner 35 and G. Gosland 29, while J. Fall grabbed 3/32 and S. Wijayaratyre 3/14. In reply Yarra junction was 7/53 with A. Young taking 4/17.
Woori Yallock is 13 with all wickets in hand in its chase of Yarra Glen’s score of all out 235. Grant Braden was 104 and Andrew Cowan 36. Adam Dunn took 3/63, R. Steggles 3/40 and A. Tazzyman 2/12.
