HEALESVILLE soccer hopefuls will have the chance to play in a Mini World Cup as part of Healesville Soccer Club’s junior clinic.
The local World Cup will give kids who have participated in the clinic the opportunity to show their newly acquired skills in a series of games with players representing the world’s top soccer nations.
The junior clinic program, catering for boys and girls from five to 10 years old, has been designed to introduce young players to soccer in a fun and safe environment and to help those already playing to improve their skills.
The clinic will involve skill development activities teaching the basic skills of soccer, drills and games to help improve ball control, one-on-one skills, and passing and shooting technique.
Healesville Soccer spokesman Greg McMahon said the six-week clinic will be organised and conducted by a coach with FFA junior licence qualifications and will start on Wednesday 10 February at Queen’s Park Soccer Pitch in Don Road.
The Mini World Cup will be held in the second half of the program.
