FEBRUARY 2 will mark a business milestone for owner of Healesville.Biz, Sally White and her partner Steve Pierrehumbert.
Sally had operated the business, providing an online business directory and webpage design for Yarra Valley businesses and other organisations, from the couple’s Chum Creek home for the past four years.
Ready to expand the business, the couple purchased two shops in Healesville’s East End in mid-2008. Their plan to open in October 2009 was dealt a major set-back on Black Saturday. The family lost their home, along with all their business equipment, effectively putting their plans on the back-burner for a while.
Although Sally and Steve are still working through the process of rebuilding, they say 2010 feels right to move the business to the next level.
The business will officially open in the East End on Tuesday, 2 February.
Tthe core business is the on-line directory – www.healesville.biz – which makes local businesses and groups immediately accessible to the outside world, Sally said.
“It lets everyone know what the business and community sector in the Yarra Valley has to offer,” Sally said.
“If people are coming to visit they can get accommodation and tourist information on the same site … it’s so much easier than having to search two or three different sites,” Sally said.
Sally also provides a professional and efficient service in web site design, hosting, development and maintenance, domain name registration and can organise for a personalised email address.
For many of Sally’s clients, the web is an unknown world, and it’s one she is happy to guide them through.
“Most people don’t know what they want when they make that first phone call and we can sit down, or even talk it through over the phone, to come up with a design,” Sally said.
“We can work through designs and come up with something that is exactly right for the business or individual.”
The St Leonard’s Road office will also provide a home base for Steve’s business, which provides vehicle tracking devices and home and business security systems.
Sally said there was an increasing demand for on-road tracking devices, particularly from companies whose business involves an on-road component.
“The devices can lead to significant productivity gains,” she said.
Healesville.Biz will also act as an agent for Healesville Locksmiths and provide a space in the evenings for local musician Bob Johnston who teaches guitar.
As an additional service, Sally is offering clients of Healesville.Biz the opportunity to display their business cards, free of charge, in what she envisages will become an extensive wall display of everything Yarra Valley businesses have to offer.
Healesville.Biz is at 3 St Leonard’s Road, Healesville. Phone 5962 6939.
