LILYDALE and Yarra Ranges Athletics Club’s relay runners have cemented their position in the State Championships.
Despite being one of the smallest clubs in the eastern region, the club is proving to be a real contender.
In the Eastern Metropolitan Region Relay championships last month, it was ranked number six following a successful day on the track.
Club spokesman Clyde Day the girls and boys produced some remarkable performances to take out four gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
The club now has 12 teams getting ready to take on the State Championships later this month.
