THE Yarra Junction Football and Netball Club kicked off its 2010 campaign with a community working bee at Upper Yarra Community House.
The players, led by coach Travis Selby, gave up their Saturday to brighten up the working environment of the UYCH. The players spent the day painting the interior of the house.
“The Community House has been a great sponsor of the club and they do a very important job in our local community,” Selby said.
“This was an opportunity for our club to give a little bit back to our community.”
The Yarra Junction Club won the B Grade netball premiership in 2009 and the senior football side finished fourth.
Club president Paul Hermon said the club was looking forward to an exciting 2010 season with continuing successes on field and real growth in the club’s membership and off-field capabilities.
