Out of the parlour into the rumpus room … fun games for families.

IT CAN happen! A rainy day in summer. Too hot to play outside. The television is on the blink. Kids have lost their game-boys, or every single battery is ‘OOO’ – Out Of Order!
That’s when you need to reach for the books. Or, one particular book – Parlour Games for Modern Families.
Myfanwy Jones and Spiri Tsintziras released their game-plan for reviving the tradition of indoor family games and bringing some mental stimulation, silliness and laughter, joy and connection back into the family living room.
You don’t need to spend big money to have fun, the book is bursting with games of logic and memory, workplay, card games, role-play and rough and tumble.
There are games with pictures, games with numbers, games of motion, mystery and make-believe, games to play with a straight face, and some where a silly face will do just fine, games for rainy days, games of cards and marbles and games to confuse and confound.
