PRINTER, fax and copier cartridges have helped Yarra Junction Post Office earn their place in Victoria’s top 10 post offices for recycling.
Australia Post described the achievement of Yarra Junction post office in collecting 142 used printer, fax and copier cartridges in one month as ‘amazing’.
The collection is part of the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark recycling project, supported by Australia Post.
Yarra Junction post office clerk Kaye Bugden said it was the community that deserved the credit and who were willing to bring in their empty or disused cartridges and leave them in the Cartridges 4 Plant Ark recycling bin at the store.
“It’s very pleasing to be in the top 10 for recycling,” Ms Bugden said.
“All credit goes to everyone who has brought in their old cartridges to be recycled.”
She said the Yarra Junction community had a good ethic and were enthusiastic when it came to recycling.
