An appetite for drama

FOOD for thought will be on the menu at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre in Warburton on Saturday, 21 November.
Beyond Cuisine is an evening of food, wine and fiction, presented by a star-studded cast of Australian actors – Humphrey Bower, Kirsty Child, Bruce Hughes and Suzanne Shubart.
Beyond Cuisine presents a mixture of classical and contemporary material with both comic and dramatic themes, from short stories and novels spanning the globe.
The readings come across more like a theatrical event than a literary one with the actors performing from the page.
Beyond Cuisine has proved to be a popular phenomenon with actors reading and performing stories to grown-ups in a cafe setting.
It has attracted rave reviews and played to packed houses over the past two year and was a feature event of the 2008 Melbourne Writers’ Festival.
