Rockin’ all week

HAPPY days are back at Cunninghams in Yarra Junction with new owners Gail and Michael Blake and Godson Nathan moving in two months ago.
For the Launching Place couple the opportunity to run their own local business is something they have dreamed of and worked towards.
The Blakes’ Happy Days, trading under its traditional name of Cunninghams, takes the best of the old and introduces some exciting changes.
There’s an open invitation from Gail, Michael and Nathan.
“Come and experience our welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, topped only by an exceptional menu delivered with genuine service.”
Wayne Farrow drives the kitchen and has had a great time creating a more extensive menu than previously available while at the same time retaining all the old favourites.
Wayne has excellent support in his kitchen with newly qualified chef Peta as his second in command and Skye and Lachlan covering the rest of the bases.
Behind the bar, Lauren, Kara and Adrian will assist with a selection of tasty beverages or assist diners to find the perfect table to begin a special dining experience.
The bar and dining rooms deliver excellent table service but also cater to the bar menu and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with $10 specials.
To complement the new menu, Michael and Gail have a growing selection of Yarra Valley wines including Bulong Estate, Shelmerdine, Tokar Estate, Wild Cattle Creek and De Bortoli.
Throw in some mainstream wines and there is plenty to choose from.
The introduction of Coopers Pale Ale to the tap beer selection offers a really refreshing option for those beautiful summer days ahead.
Two special events coming up offer the perfect excuse – if any is needed – to visit Cunninghams.
Full Boar will perform in Halloween costumes on Saturday 31 October. Go along dressed in theme for the chance to win a prize.
Then on Cup Eve, Monday 2 November, enjoy a gourmet barbecue and desserts and enjoy a more relaxed pace of spring racing with snail races and a fashions on the field competition. Bookings are essential.
Finally, vie for a chance to win the Cunninghams ‘thoroughbread’ by simply coming up with a name that’s a real winner. This competition is open to all ages. The new Happy Days Cunninghams is very much about being part of the community for the Blake family.
“We love the pub and the atmosphere,” said Gail.
“As a family we’re relaxed and we love entertaining so this is very much an extension of what we are.”
Join the Blakes and their staff sometime soon to experience the new Cunninghams.
