THE side wall of Healesville’s Memorial Hall will become a gigantic projection screen this coming Friday and Saturday.
The work of 30 young Indigenous students will be projected onto the wall putting on show the results of three months of work by the Worawa Aboriginal College and Oonah Pathways students.
The students have created the works, an exploration of their sense of place through art, using different media such as digital photography and collage.
Ryrie Ward councillor Jeanette McRae said the hall would be transformed by the fascinating art project and encouraged people to go along to the presentations.
“This is a great opportunity to see some amazing artwork and discover what sense of place means to these talented young people,” she said.
She also acknowledged the work of Mia Rappel and Andrea Werner, artist facilitators who she said had worked with the students to enable them to share their vision and views with the community.
A special preview of the Oonah Pathways digital photography exhibition will also be held on both nights.
The projection artwork project is part of the Meeting Place project on Badger Creek Road.
The projection will run in a loop from 8.15pm to 10.15pm on 30 and 31 October, with a free barbeque starting at 7.30pm on the Friday night.
