Damp start to two-day games

WITH junior and senior cricket called off on Saturday after a week of good rain, all games next week will revert to one-day games with seniors commencing at 12:45pm in 45 over games.
The focus now shifts to the representative games played against neighbouring associations in Region 8. Junior squads will be finalised this week with the last selection sessions on Monday and Wednesday this week. See www.ftgdca.cricketvictoria.com.au for details.
Games kick off on Sunday 25 October with the under-18s taking on Yarra Valley Cricket Association at Queens Park, Healesville , while the under-16s play West Gippsland at Cranbourne Race Course. Games for the under-12s and 14s will take place in November.
Region 8 under-21 region trials will be held Monday 26 October at Frankston. This team will play against country regions across Victoria.
Simon Dignan (Footballers), Sam Waters and Matt Mulchay (Upwey) and Peter Dunlop (Johnson Park) are trialling for the Victorian Country XI to take part in the Australian Country Cricket Championships being held in Albury from 2 January 2010.
