SINCE changing hands six months ago Steel Street Children’s Centre has welcomed many new families and is now a bustling hive of activity.
The centre is very family focused and staff work closely with parents to provide the best possible childcare experience for every child and parent.
“Beginning childcare can sometimes be scarier for the parents than it is for the children and we need to support the whole family to ensure it is a positive time for everyone concerned,” said centre manager Danielle Koningen.
“This family focus continues throughout the child’s time at the centre.”
Staff work with families when developing programs and communicate with parents regularly about their child’s development, routines and interests.
“Our dedicated, committed staff are a credit to the centre,” Ms Koningen said.
“Each team member has valuable childcare experience and appropriate qualifications so you can be sure that your children are receiving the best possible care available.”
Ms Koningen said children play a major role in the development of the program.
“Centre routines are built around a child-initiated program and are supported by carer-initiated activities to promote your child’s development,” she said.
The centre provides care for up to 90 children per day aged between six weeks and six years.
An open day is planned in the near future and Ms Koningen said community members are welcome to attend.
“The staff are really looking forward to showing people what a wonderful centre Steel Street is,” she added.
For anyone wanting to know more about childcare or see a modern, ‘state of the art’ childcare centre the open day will provide the perfect opportunity.
