SUPERDRIVES is a well-known, local asphalt paving company that has recently expanded its operations to include ‘concrete’ paving.
For 22 years, Superdrives has been paving the way to the future in asphalt throughout Victoria and as a member of the Australian Asphalt and Paving Association (AAPA) its paving design work is carried out to meet Australian Standards.
Superdrives is also a Health and Safety Award winner, along with being an accredited contractor with Trades Monitor which ensures all insurances and licences are current and DEECD approved for working around children.
With the decision to expand its service to include concrete paving, the last 18 months have seen a significant increase in concrete sales from both the commercial and residential markets.
Managing director Charlie Richardson said with their move into concrete his sales and paving team can now offer a complete quality paving service in asphalt or concrete along with associated works which can include excavation, drainage, border edging, retainer walls, landscaping and line marking.
Mr Richardson also said: “Because of the current economic climate, some major projects have been put on hold, but the demand for repairs and maintenance agreements has doubled. We can cater for either new construction or repair works while maintaining our policy to provide a totally reliable service with high quality materials and workmanship.”
“Pavement failure shows up as longitudinal cracks and crocodiling-segmented fractures,” he explained. “When this happens moisture seeps in and undermines the subgrade foundation which accelerates the problem causing further deterioration, especially during wet weather spells.
“If it is left unattended, collapse of the whole pavement surface occurs and then becomes a very costly reconstruction process”, he said.
“However, budgeting is important,” he added. “Don’t accept less than high quality even if it means delaying the project until the budget permits.
“As one client stated, ‘what’s another 12 months when we’ve waited 10 years for our driveway?’
“Remember ‘the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.’.”
