19 goals – and one behind

OLINDA’S Blake Walter kicked an amazing 19 goals for the match and his team could do no wrong as it went forward with ease and gave Blake his best day ever in front of goal. And he kicked only one behind.

IT TOOK Healesville until the second half to get its running game going and shake off a determined Alexandra, by 32 points.
Healesville’s Jarrod Sund was kicked seven goals as Alexandra’s Ethan Hamill tried hard with four.

BOTH sides played some good football as this was anyone’s game at three-quarter time with Upwey holding a 12-point lead. With a little more run in the legs Upwey scored three goals to one in the last quarter to finish with a hard-fought four-goal victory over Warburton.

IT WAS a consistent Mt Evelyn that increased its lead at every change. Ryan Bombinski booted six for the winners, Lachlan Urquhart continued his good form with a best-on-ground performance. Gembrook’s David Cracknell was his side’s best.

POWELLTOWN looked slightly more skilled for three quarters as it took a 20-point lead into the last term. Belgrave gave its all in the last term but time ran out and it lost by one point.

NOT the most skilled game but the conditions didn’t help. The crowd was treated to a close contest with Woori just that touch stronger with a two-goal-to-one final term to take a thrilling two- point victory.
