KINGLAKE footballers and netballers will travel to Olinda this week for the match of the season.
Club administrator Rick Wall is urging locals to show their support for the visitors and turn up at the Olinda oval on Saturday to watch the three football and two netball games.
Wall said the support for the Kinglake club since the fires has been phenomenal and people around the country, and overseas, were helping the Lakers. He said 19 members of the club lost homes in the fires and four children associated with the club perished in the tragedy.
Wall said as recently as last Saturday people were very emotional, when details of the deaths of two of those children were published for the first time. Olinda seniors are unbeaten this season while Kinglake is second on the ladder and has emerged as a premiership threat.
