WANDIN Yallock Primary School’s popular calendar event, the family fun fair, is on this Saturday 16 May from 11am to 4pm.
Running for more than 15 years the popular event provides a day of kid’s rides, show bags, novelty competitions and entertainment for the whole family.
There will be live performances by local dance and martial arts schools and a mix of market stalls filled with arts, crafts, plants, cakes, food and local produce to browse and buy.
Wandin Yallock principal Christine Shiel said the yearly festival was not only a great day but also an important fundraiser for the school.
“It’s an annual event and very much a community event. It has a lot of integrity in how it is set up and it provides a lot of fun raising and fundraising,” Ms Shiel said.
Ms Shiel said that the festival usually raised around $10,000 for the school and intends for this year’s profits to go towards initiatives like interactive white boards, a Young Leaders program and a new bike shed.
A coloured wrist band can be purchased from the school office for unlimited rides on the day. The cost of the wrist band is $17 before Saturday 16 and $20 on the day.
Entry is free, and the school is at the corner of Quayle Road and Beenak Road.
