WINE and dine at Yarra Junction’s Bulong Estate this Mother’s Day.
The estate is a family owned and run vineyard, winery, cellar door and restaurant.
The cellar door and restaurant is positioned in the middle of the 33-hectare vineyard, commanding stunning views across the valley floor to the imposing Mount Donna Buang.
Established in 1994, Bulong Estate’s winemaker Matt Carter said the site had proven to be exceptional for the production of high quality, cool climate, wines.
The restaurant was opened in 2006 and has established itself as a popular weekend venue for lunch or dinner. Its menu changes with the seasons and features local produce where possible.
All winemaking and bottling is conducted on-site.
Matt has extensive experience both in Australia and overseas and his primary aim is to grow the best possible fruit in the first place.
The restaurant is presided over by Judy Carter, while renowned chef Antoine Cheron is responsible for the kitchen. Antoine is a third generation Normandy chef with 20 years’ experience. He brings French flair and technical expertise to Bulong Estate and has expertly matched the food to the excellent estate wines.
For Mother’s Day, Sunday, 10 May, Antoine and Judy have created a special menu.
“Autumn is a great time of the year for local produce such as mushrooms, venison, apples and chestnuts” said Antoine. “But of course Atlantic salmon from Tassie is great at the moment, so I must also include that in the menu.”
Bulong Estate Winery, Cellar Door and Restaurant is at 70 Summerhill Road, Yarra Junction. To book for Mother’s Day phone 5967 2773.
