A FESTIVAL at Buxton Recreation Reserve on Easter Monday from 10am to 5pm is aimed at bringing fun into the lives of local communities, and attracting tourism back to the Narbethong, Marysville, Buxton ‘triangle’.
Melbourne woman Alisha Gartland and her mother Anne were in Marysville on Black Saturday and she says she will never forget the trauma they experienced and saw others go through.
Alisha, an opera singer and event manager, said they wanted to help.
The alcohol free New Life Festival aims to bring some fun back into the lives of the triangle communities and provide time-out to reconnect.
“We also want to encourage tourism back to the area with an event where the whole community can benefit,” Alisha said.
The event which is shaping up to be an fun-filled day for families is free to local residents and for visitors admission is by a gold coin donation.
There will be plenty to see and do with a concert, jumping castles and rides, face painting and fairy storytelling, magicians, stilt walkers, meet cartoon favourites Max and Milly, pony rides and circus acts, mountain bike demonstrations and professional skateboarding, celebrity performances, massage and reiki tents, market stalls and giveaways.
Phone Alisha on 0407 927 118 for information.
