IN THE final game of the round, Sherbrooke visited Altona, and faced a team looking to improve on their disappointing end to last season.
Bringing back 80 per cent of their 2008 squad and with a change in the head coaching department, the Gators were raring to go.
Unfortunately they met a Suns team with too much firepower, who ran away with a comfortable win.
The game was very close throughout with Sherbrooke taking a 38-35 lead into halftime.
Their lead was extended by one point in the third period, and that three point margin only grew.
The Suns burnt the Gators on the offensive end in the final period outscoring the home team 32-17, committing only two turnovers.
For the victors, Shannon Kendall poured in 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
For Altona, Jeremy Marsh top scored with 16 points.
Game MVP: Josh Bjelan (Sherbrooke Suns).
